Meet the Morrison Tech Class of 2019

On Monday, August 28th, 2017, Morrison Tech welcomed their largest class in ten years. This year brought an enrollment growth of 70% to the prior year.
Five Karate Black Belts, Three Eagle Scouts and one magician are among the Morrison Tech Class of 2019. The new students come from 45 different high schools and three states. Among those, 12 are attending as relatives of a Morrison alumni. First generation students – those who are the first to attend college in their family – account for 49% of the class. As a class, they have visited 48 out of the 50 states. We also have a family divided…47% Cubs fans and 44% Cardinal fans; which makes for an interesting environment!
A few outstanding facts about this class. The class hosts a 51% over ACT state average, 72% volunteer and 7 have chosen to attend college while raising a family.
This class holds a breakdown of; 52% Mechanical Engineering Technology, 21% Construction Engineering Technology and 27% Network Administration. At the end of their second semester they will be one of the first to benefit from the new Innovation Center being constructed on campus. The Innovation Center will break ground this Fall and is estimated to be up and running Spring of 2018.
Beyond these stats, of course, are real people – young adults looking to change their and others they meet lives. People with determination, integrity and goals.
The Class of 2019 has only been on campus a week but it is already clear that they will make their own mark on Morrison Tech!
