Holiday Lunch Tradition Continues On For Over 30 Years

For over 30 years Morrison Tech has hosted a Holiday Lunch for its students, faculty, and staff. At this year’s celebration, approximately 100 guests enjoyed a traditional and flavorful feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, casseroles, and pies.
The Annual Holiday Dinner started many years ago and was initially held in “The Barn”; the small recreation facility on campus. Beginning in 2007 the venue was moved to the college’s, at that time, newly constructed Administration Building that houses a 300 capacity Auditorium. The Auditorium is set up in Harry Potter style, promoting an authentic family feel, where guests can enjoy conversation and camaraderie while enjoying their meal.
Over the years, other festivities have been celebrated with this event including an ugly sweater contest, drawings for prizes, and most recently a campus-wide light show that is open to the public. Of all the traditions, one most notable is the delivery of a 20’ live Christmas Tree which is decorated by the students. The arrival and decorating of the giant tree is a cherished event on campus.
The Holiday Dinner is the last time the student body gets together before final exams and their Winter Break. It is a wonderful wrap-up to the first semester of the academic year.
