MORRISON TECH WELCOMES STUDENTS BACK TO CAMPUS!
On Monday, August 21st, Morrison Tech welcomed back all students for the Fall 2023 semester. Not only did this eventful day mark the start of a new school year, it also ushered in the college’s 50th year in service.
The year began with move-in weekend for the students residing on campus. Saturday and Sunday families moved in their students with the help of Morrison Tech returning students, the President of the college, and the Admissions staff.
“Our mission for move-in weekend is always to make the transition to college as easy as possible. To ease a few anxieties and to make sure that our newest students know they belong here. We are so lucky to have amazing students and staff that help with move-in weekend – it is a great example of how much we truly care about each and every one of them,” said Jodie Eaker, VP of Admissions.
The first week of the fall semester was definitely a success for new and returning students at Morrison Tech. All students had the opportunity to become involved in events and find community on campus. The college hosted several different events throughout the week giving the students many opportunities to settle into their new home.
The week began with a lunch prepared by the President of the college, Christopher Scott; President Scott’s delicious street tacos were a big hit and a great way to begin the year. Other events throughout the week varied from the school’s annual duck race and a campus scavenger hunt to presentations about time management and professionalism.
“Those of us who have chosen to spend our careers on college campuses absolutely love the month of August.” shared President Christopher Scott. “We’ve been waiting all summer for the students to arrive and their presence on campus energizes us for the academic year ahead. I look forward to and enjoy meeting the newest members of the Morrison Tech family. I truly believe that the two years they spend at this college will be one of the most rewarding times of their lives.”
