Nathan Newton
Employer: Sandia National Laboratories
Employer City: Albuquerque
Employer State: New Mexico
I graduated from Morrison Institute of Technology in 2013, and since then have been employed by Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My time at Morrison Institute of Technology was a major opportunity for my life path. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendships, the community, the teachers, and the atmosphere there. Everything that happened there set me up for success where I am now.
Attending this school taught me to be knowledgeable and marketable in part/assembly design and gave me a great foundation for a highly rewarding career. Understanding and being proficient with four of the highest used CAD packages in the industry (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, and NX) throughout my schooling and internship coupled with understanding the fundamentals of GD&T and other courses have made me a great designer with endless opportunities in the world of production.
My time at Sandia has consisted of many great learning opportunities and chances to partner with highly intelligent people to create components, assemblies, and drawings for my country, as well as to grow my current understanding of not just my skill set, but others as well. Daily its exciting/challenging, and daily it's a blessing.
