A Look Back
2023 was a year marked by service, scholarship, and connection. The Morrison Tech community studied hard, served the community, and came together to celebrate the 50th year of service for the college. We embarked on new endeavors; an Alumni Reunion honoring our past and future, a new addition to our curriculum, our first scholarship campaign and an ever-expanding campus.
Our photos of the year illustrate the core principles of Morrison Tech: remaining student centric, maintaining passion for all we do, ability to embrace and drive change, respect for one another, and stewardship We chose photos that captured the spirit of the year as it passed, from students' dedication in the classroom to the joy and celebration accompanying commencement. Join us as we reminisce and celebrate a year filled with achievements, challenges, and the unmistakable spirit of the Morrison Tech community.
The Spring 2023 semester at Morrison Tech was a busy one. A mild storm kicked off the semester soon followed by many traditional events; Valentine’s Day card deliveries to students, celebrating Mardis Gras - Morrison Tech Style, an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt, the Bi-Annual Red Cross Blood Drive, the initiation of the saw mill housed by the Innovation Center, many hands on courses and finally the college’s 82nd Commencement Ceremony.
During the summer, Morrison Tech kicked off their 50 year anniversary celebration by hosting an All-Alumni Reunion. During this reunion, the college celebrated 5 Outstanding Alumni (nominated by their peers) and 3 Notable Employer Partnerships. There were more firsts for the college during Summer 2023; they hosted a Pop Up Meet and Greet for both current and incoming students, along with their families. Parents and students met with instructors and staff, explored campus, selected dorm rooms for the upcoming semester, and mingled with future classmates.
The institution announced their Fifty for 50 Scholarship campaign – another first for the school. The campaign is set to run the length of the college’s celebratory year. All donations go directly to scholarships for current and incoming students. Morrison Tech is grateful to those who have already made contributions.
The fall rolled around quickly. The campus was eager to welcome back the Class of 2024 and meet the Class of 2025. It was a remarkably busy semester with a donut eating contest, Midterm Madness and Advisor wars, several made@morrison projects, 7th Grade STEM Experience days, hosting trick or treat for an area daycare, and numerous other activities and celebrations. The semester concluded with the traditional holiday feast and the arrival of the Christmas tree. The 18ft tall spruce was decorated by students during finals week, the Voss Christmas Light Display added a festive glow on campus before winter break. Holiday spirit was in the air.
As we reflect on the achievements and excitement of 2023, we look forward to what the New Year will bring.
