System & Networking Administration Program

What is System and Networking Administration

Networking or system administrators design, setup, support and troubleshoot the computer networks of an organization.  They also train and support system users, install hardware and software, troubleshoot network problems, and maintain and monitor the network's security system.  System administrators also monitor existing networks to ensure the network, software and computer work together properly.  They monitor network performance and recommend possible future network needs.

Typical Jobs

System and Networking Administrators are predicted to be one of the fastest growing occupations in the 2002 - 2012 period according to U.S. Department of Labor predictions.  Graduates will qualify for entry to mid level positions in network administration.  The systems and network administrator usually works in a corporate or office environment.  There are also system and network administration careers in manufacturing, education, government and the Intranet.
