Futures Campaign

Welcome!

Please read about this endeavor we are under taking to assist future students who wish to attend Morrison Institute of Technology.

Background

The mission and goal of the college has always been to provide its students with the finest education possible in the fields of Engineering Technology.  Since its beginning the college has been able to accomplish this as shown by its accreditations and recognitions by over 25 professional engineering organizations across our country.  Several employers continually return to the college to hire its graduates.  Many of these companies will not recruit from the many community colleges and other two-year colleges because they lack the accreditation status Morrison has or they will require a test be taken before they will consider them for employment.  Many of you have hopefully enjoyed success due to the education received at Morrison as a beginning point in your life.  There are many students that come to us for that very purpose of gaining a career for the future and just not acquiring a job.  They know that they can achieve that at Morrison, but many are finding it more and more difficult to afford the costs of such a quality education.  When many of you attended Morrison, you also may have faced similar situations and had to rely on some type of financial assistance mainly through State of Illinois and/or Federal assistance programs or student loan programs.  The problem today has grown far more difficult due in a large part that these programs have not kept up with the cost of education.  The problem has also been magnified at Morrison since the State of Illinois has recently cut all FTE institutional funding to private colleges due to the State's own financial problems. This has caused the college along with other private colleges to increase their cost even more to make up for the cut in funds thus making it even more difficult for students to attend.

So How Can The Alumni Assist?

In 2004, the college decided to undertake an ambitious drive to establish a Scholarship Fund upon which students may draw from to assist them in financing their education.  Funds have been sought from staff, alumni, companies, and local businesses.  Our goal is to achieve a $250,000.00 fund from which to draw and then continue to build on this so the fund becomes self sustaining.  With your cooperation we can continue to go a long ways towards accomplishing this goal and provide many needy students with the same financial benefits many of you were given while in attendance at Morrison.  Without your assistance, Morrison will begin to have a difficult time enrolling new students despite the excellence in training we provide.  I am sure you want your college to continue to grow as the many pictures on this college web site have shown.  So we urge you to consider helping us help future students and help the college to continue to attain its goal of educating students who will make a meaningful personal and professional contribution to society as many of you are presently doing.  You may be able to write a large check, small check or give a gift of stock. Which ever, all contributions will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.  You may not be able to give that million-dollar gift, but you might give a smaller amount. Imagine what could be raised if all our alumni and friends gave something.

How Can I Contribute?

First, all contributions are deductible from your income taxes, so you will get a return back.  Second, you may send a contribution directly to the college via mail either by check or money order (please do not send cash).  Third, you may use the Pay Pal system below to send in a contribution by way of a credit card via a secure site.  Fourth, you may elect to make monthly contributions rather than a single annual contribution if this fits better into your financial planning.
